Therapeutic patient education is on the increase in France due to the undeniable epidemiological, sociological, and economic stakes involved, even in psychiatry. This activity is increasingly surrounded by a regulatory framework concerning program structuring as well as the competences that need to be put into action. However, can we measure the impact on patient autonomy and the evolution of professional competence starting from a specific program such as “ PACT ” (Psychosis, assist, comprehend, treat)? The study conducted at the Centre Hospitalier de Jury on 3 CMPs (Medico-psychological centers) and alongside the families involved underlines the importance of the therapeutic link between care staff and families for the introduction of such a method, and suggests indicators to measure the impact of the programs, although these remain to be validated on a larger scale. The study confirms the need to structure an institutional project so as to guarantee its continued existence. Furthermore, evolution must concentrate on the introduction of advanced procedures in nursing care, especially in the ambulatory sector. Finally, the main idea resides in the very conception of educational care based on carer-family alternation and co-learning.
