Clinical reasoning
By Pierre Désaulniers, Jean-F. LetendreEnglish
Clinical reasoning is the fundamental tool every clinician must master. This paper provides a definition of the clinical reasoning process using real cases and presents some of the cognitive models underlying it (with particular focus on script theory). We discuss the caveats of the clinical reasoning process and its impact on interdisciplinary work, the use of technologies, and medical teaching.
