This article describes the theory of a peaceful end of life. This nursing theory was developed by Cornelia Ruland and Shirley Moore (1999) in their model of palliative care, which emphasizes the importance of quality of life at the end of life, while seeking to reduce suffering and promote a dignified and peaceful death. Their model is based on a holistic and personalized approach to care, taking into account the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of the person at the end of life.
